Fr. Guy (Anthony) Lofy of the Infant Jesus was born on October 26, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Joseph and Catherine (nee Ehr) Lofy. He graduated from St. Florian Parish School in Milwaukee, then entered the minor seminary high school at Holy Hill, Wisconsin. He was received into the Carmelite Order in 1941 and made his first profession October 11, 1942, notably the first Milwaukeean to join the Discalced Carmelite Order. He studied at both Holy Hill and the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. On December 21, 1948, Fr. Guy was ordained a priest by Auxiliary Bishop Roman R. Atkielski in Milwaukee and returned to his home parish of St. Florian to celebrate his first solemn Mass on Christmas Day, 1948.

Among his priestly ministries, Fr. Guy served as pastor and vicar at St. Florian (1961-1969), overseeing the building of a new parish school run by the School Sisters of St. Agnes. He taught religion at Mercy High School, Milwaukee and later at Bishop High School in Hammond, Indiana where he resided for a time and served as a moderator of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites in Munster.

Fr. Guy died on August 8, 2001 and is buried at the Carmelite Cemetery in Hubertus, Wisconsin.
