Fr. Cyril (Carl) Baumeister of Holy Mary was baptized at SS Peter and Paul Parish in Wuerzburg, Bavaria, Germany on November 25, 1879, the son of George and Elizabeth (nee Broenner) Baumeister. He entered the Order of the Discalced Carmelite Friars on August 6, 1879 in Reisach, Bavaria; made his simple profession on August 6, 1898 in Reisach; his solemn profession on August 6, 1901 in Holland and was ordained to the priesthood under the administration of Bishop Drehmans on August 15, 1903 in Merkelbeck, Holland.

Evidence of his ministry in America began from 1907-16 as a chaplain for the Congregation of St. Agnes in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. From 1921-1927, Fr. Cyril acted as Vicar at Holy Hill, Hubertus, Wisconsin. He served as Vicar and Pastor at St. Florian Parish in West Milwaukee from 1933-39; Subprior in Washington, DC from 1940-1943 and Prior in Washington, DC  beginning in 1943.

Fr. Cyril died on December 24, 1949 and is buried at the Carmelite Cemetery, Hubertus, Wisconsin.
