Fr. Bruno (Raymond) Cocuzzi of the Sacred Family was born on February 7, 1927 in Rochester, New York to parents Lazarus and Angelina (nee Valerio) Cocuzzi. Over his 46 years of priesthood, Fr. Bruno served in various ministries ranging from involvement in mission appeals to spiritual assistance to the Secular Carmelites. At the request of his Provincial, he spent considerable and exacting time in 1976 translating the new Constitutions and Directory from Latin to English, and as a qualified civil lawyer before the Massachusetts Bar, created the Carmel Legal Aid Society to assist him in his personal apostolate of providing legal services to the residents of the inner city of Boston. He died on July 21, 2002, and is buried at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
